About This Project
UF’s Southwest Recreation Center highlights stormwater treatment throughout its exterior design. Aesthetic rain gardens are located in different sections in front of the building to receive stormwater runoff from the roof. These sections are designed to capture overflow and drain water into the main stormwater management system. The center also features a downspout that collects rainwater from the roof and conveys it onto a channel of drainage rocks.
